September 2009: Due to ocean color data file changes in the most recent
reprocessing of SeaWiFS and MODIS Aqua ocean color data by the OBPG, data
updates have ceased in this older Giovanni instance. The new data will appear
in the Ocean Color Radiometry instance; because the extensive changes to the
data files require significant alterations to Giovanni, this update will be
delayed due to the limitations on GES DISC resources which can be dedicated to
this effort.
Links to monthly data below now connect to Ocean Color Radiometry SeaWiFS 8-day data is temporarily maintained here for visualization ONLY; this data corresponds to Reprocessing 5 and not the current Reprocessing 2009. We are in the process of creating a Giovanni instance for 8-day ocean color data products, to be available at some time in 2010. |
Ocean Color Time-Series Online Visualization and Analysis
Welcome to the Ocean Color Time-Series Online Visualization and Analysis System! This system is based on the GES-DISC Interactive Online Visualization and ANalysis Infrastructure (Giovanni) which was developed by the GES DISC to provide users with an easy-to-use, Web-based interface for the visualization and analysis of the Earth Science data.
Ocean Color Time-Series Giovanni was initiated under a NASA REASoN project (Dr. Watson Gregg, PI). Giovanni now includes SeaWiFS ocean color data, MODIS Aqua ocean-color and SST data, Garver-Siegel-Maritorena (GSM) derived ocean color data products (Institute for Computation Earth System Science, University of California-Santa Barbara), and NASA Ocean Biological Model (NOBM) data.
