GSM01 Monthly Global 9-km MODIS-Aqua Products

The monthly optical products generated by the GSM01 semi-analytical merging model are: the combined absorption coefficient of dissolved and detrital material at 443 nm and the particulate backscattering at 443 nm. These products were derived using the level 3, daily, binned normalized water-leaving radiances from MODIS-Aqua. This data are in a Standard Mapped Image format similar to that of the OBPG. Note:The results derived using Giovanni are dependent on the GrADS averaging functions aave and ave (when data is averaged over space and/or time). The use of different averaging methods on the data will produce slightly different results.
